Hands-on Sourdough Course 2026

Join us for a unique, hands-on Sourdough Baking Course. Every year, I guide over 100 home bakers in discovering the art and science of sourdough bread. My popular “Demystifying Sourdough” presentations explore sourdough science, starter maintenance, and my personal baking techniques. This exclusive event is a response to frequent requests for more interactive, in-depth instruction following my free, two-hour presentations. In partnership with the Okanagan Heritage Society, I am excited to offer an intimate, hands-on sourdough baking course limited to just 10 participants. Participants will mix their own dough, handle and shape sample loaves, and leave with a bread ready to bake at home the following day. Final event details will be shared soon, so watch for updates. Book early to have the opportunity to purchase special equipment packages. A portion of the course proceeds will support the Okanagan Heritage Society’s ongoing maintenance of the historic Bennett House. Bennett House (Brookside Manor) is a historic Tudor Revival estate in Kelowna, originally built in 1912 by Francis DeHart, a notable local developer and horticulturist. The property features preserved architectural and interior details, including cherry woodwork and original gardens. In 1935, it was acquired by W.A.C. and May Bennett; W.A.C. Bennett later became B.C.’s longest-serving premier, and his son Bill also served as premier. The Central Okanagan Heritage Society is now preparing the house for public access and is dedicated to preserving this landmark for future generations.
